In support of the Chief Fire Officer Association Water Safety Event 13-19 April, Kent Fire & Rescue Service will be providing water safety advice. Between 11:30 and 14:00, they will also demonstrate a number of simulated water rescues and bring along one of their fire engines. The event is to demonstrate the dangers of playing in open water and the risk this poses to members of the public.

There were 669 water-related fatalities in 2013 – that’s two-and-a-half times the number of people that died in dwelling fires in 2012/13.

Due to technical issues the paddling pool will be closed for the foreseeable future, however the Water Features will still be operational.

The cafe, boats and bouncy castle and battery cars and bikes will be open from Saturday 14th February 2015 for the half term (weather permitting) and weekends after that, again weather permitting.

The paddling pool should be open for the first weekend in April 2015. The play areas and car parks are open daily (9am until dusk). The train will commence on Good Friday.
