Today, Swanley Town Council are celebrating after receiving three Green Flag Awards for Swanley Park, Swanley Recreation Ground and Elephant Park.
This year Swanley Park has received its sixth consecutive Green Flag Award with Swanley Recreation Ground and Elephant Park both receiving their fourth consecutive Green Flag Awards.
Parks and Open Spaces Manager George Brooker said “. The staff and volunteers do so much to ensure that our parks are maintained to such high standards, it’s an amazing accomplishment and for this to be recognised with three Green Flag Awards should make everyone involved feel extremely proud of their achievement.”
Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag Award Scheme Manager Paul Todd MBE said: “I would like to congratulate everyone involved in achieving these Green Flag Awards.”
The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
